 Desk Set
This colonial style desk set was all functional in its day. One vessel held ink, while the other has a peirced top to hold sand which was shaken over the inked paper to help dry it. With a quill holder at its base, the candle was made not only for light, but to melt the wax for the document's seal. The gallery posts and feet are both cast silver, and the try is walnut.
